Jakob - a comic fairy tale
A graduate project at the Film Academy Baden-Würtemberg 3 to 6 June 2010 Opening hours: Thu noon–7 p.m., Fri/Sat 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Sun 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Kongresszentrum Heinrich-Lades-Halle, Rangfoyer (1. Stock) – Halle JF
The comic tale “Jakob“ was developed as the graduate project of the animator and artist Felix Mertikat and is the first comic project to be accepted as a graduate thesis at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. The evolution of the project is interesting as well, since “Jakob” is an interdisciplinary cooperation between the artist Mertikat and the screenplay student Benjamin Schreuder. The comic novices tell a poetic all-ages fable about death and a child’s search for meaning. The publication of the comic by Cross Cult does not signify the end of this cooperation. It is being continued in other genres and media. In addition to originals the small exhibition in Erlangen shows an interactive version of the comic and an animated short film of the story in cooperation with other students at the Film Academy, professional voice actors and musicians.
Guided tours through the exhibition: daily at 2 and 5 p.m. Comic Reading: Saturday, 5 June 2010, 4 p.m., Trauungszimmer
